Some oldies but goodies Transformers
Here we have 3 transformers which were made shortly after Lionel added it’s whistle and direction control to their line. All of these have Lionel’s robust lever over transformer coil design.
All are 90 watts
All have direction controls
All have whistle controls
Their original design has an exposed slow acting circuit breaker which was not a very good design and caused frequent failures. You could measure power at the output but would not run a train, caused by corrosion in the exposed circuit breaker. Consequently, we have changed the original breaker to a modern one that is sealed.
We Change the accessory output so it will operate with outside rail power, so it will work properly with switches rcs tracks etc. Each transformer has a label attached to the back or side of the transformer with the corrected wiring method like below:
These wiring instructions are different from the ones printed on the top label and reflect the internal changes we made.
Which one do I like best? Electorally they are identical but I kinda like the 2 right ones because of the top levers. If you have a preference let us know and we will be more than happy to oblige.
